Art Journal Pages, Birds and Faces
Last week I showed a detail shot of this page in progress. It's finished now. :)
Be happy and put yourself out there.
I love how art journaling is a way to process what's going on inside your heart and head. Sometimes if you tune in and listen you can hear the truth cut through all noise.
This one's not finished yet, but I am taking Kim Dellow up on her Show Your Face challenge to create and post faces. This is another page in my larger size journal, which I seem to be enjoying. No words for this page yet. A lot of times the words don't find me until the page is done - or nearly done.
Does art journaling help you process things? Let me know in the comments.
Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteHappy, colorful pieces! To me, bright fun colors make me smile. I art journal but I think my way is a little different than what "art journaling" is, and yes it can turn a difficult day into a great day and I get so much inspiration from it,. I have started series of different paintings or drawings from it. And I learn a lot to about how to do art and about myself. It also takes away some of the pain in my body as I loose myself in whatever I am working on. That is the best part, to really get into the piece where time flies by and it's almost like meditating. Great post! Hugs, Rasz #55
ReplyDeleteThanks Rasz! I love that feeling of being "in the flow" - you are right - it's meditative. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
DeleteI love all your bright colors. Your work in progress has a good start. It will be interesting to see how it turns out. I find that I like working larger, too.
ReplyDeleteHi Neena! Thanks. I was surprised to find that I enjoyed the larger size.
DeleteOooh! I really like the first one. It's sort of a folk art style to me. I think it would awesome on a card.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo!

ReplyDeleteThanks Wanda! And good for you for posting your first art journal page! I'll plan to head over to check it out.
DeleteShe looks very contemplative! I find art journalling is good for writing out problem or annoyances and then covering over with gesso, adding paint or collage, and writing solutions or at least positive words to transform the angst. My angst is usually about trying to decide what art to do that day and so its a very good soloution for me. Bye for now!!
ReplyDeleteI love hearing your responses about how art journaling helps you! Writing out your problems and then covering over with positives is a great practice. Thank you for sharing!
DeleteI love this page, the color, the bird, and the face drawing is beautiful, you did a wonderful job of creating beautiful art
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by leekrek and for that nice compliment. Have a good week!
DeleteI love working in my journal, although I've been doing so many other projects lately it has rather taken a 'back seat'. I think you're right that sometimes working in a journal can help us to process many things and get everything into perspective. I love your page with its bright colours and the wonderful bird. The woman's face is lovely too: she looks as if she is dreaming. It's bright and detailed but serene too. xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you Julie Ann Lee! I love hearing how other artists use art journaling - and I know sometimes things get busy and we can't always spend as much time as we might like. Thanks for stopping by!
Deletei love the colors in your pages!! they make me happy :)
