I have been working on the flower fiber art piece I shared on Friday.
I have stitched everything down that is cut so far. I added the initial stitching to the center of the flower with free motion circle shapes. I want to add more here - maybe some hand embroidery.
FMQ surely takes practice - but that practice is fun to do!
More flowers need to be cut and appliqued and the ground/hills need definition with fabric and stitching. But I spent Sunday organizing in my studio. I love to get things cleaned up and organized, don't you? I just like to have a neat, attractive space to work in - maybe because my room is small so I feel claustrophobic if there's too much stuff around.
I cleaned up and rearranged and am now cleaning out and reorganizing the closet.
Are you organizing in the new year?

That looks like a lot of fun! The fmq looks great! I'm doing a lot of organising and cleaning - I agree it feels really good :)
ReplyDeleteI love the quilting in the middle of the flower. This is such a nice piece to look at in the middle of winter.
ReplyDeleteLove the fmq in the flower's center! I look forward to seeing the progress, especially hand embroidery!
